Meet Dr. Vigo

Dr. Omar Vigo is from Puerto Rico and the creator of PLAYchitecture framework, but he has lived in CT, USA, for eight years with his beloved family. He has worked with young children for more than 25 years, but has experience with all educational levels. His undergraduate studies in Elementary Physical Education were completed at the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, & his master’s studies were completed in Early Childhood Studies at Capella University, Minneapolis, MN. He earned his doctoral degree at Louisiana State University, where his specialization was early childhood curriculum & instruction with a dual degree, including urban & community education and instructional coaching graduate certificates.

Accolades

Omar works as an adjunct early childhood education professor at Baton Rouge Community College. Also, Dr. Vigo is an assistant professor at the Community College of Rhode Island as an early childhood education instructor. He is part of multiple national and international educational organizations, through which he continues publishing and presenting at conferences. Furthermore, Dr. Vigo is a Child Development Associate (CDA) professional development specialist (infant, toddler, preschool, and birth to five) as well as children’s book author.
